Part I. Rule 4 (Requirements for Attorneys, Registered Law Students, and Persons Authorized to Practice Under the Provisional Admissions Rules) adds new subsection (5) (Counsel of Record) to clarify the definition of counsel of record and to establish the requirement that any additional attorney seeking to appear must file a notice of appearance; Rule 4(9) (Pro Hac Vice Appearance) revised to clarify that certificates of good standing must be submitted from the highest court of each jurisdiction in which the applicant is admitted, and that each certificate must be dated no more than 30 days before submission; Rule 6(2) (Frivolous Appeals) provides that erroneous citations to authority unsupported by caselaw or the record may constitute grounds for imposition of sanctions.
Part II. Filings, Rule 20(8) (Page or Word Limitation) amended to establish lengths on requests for extensions; Rule 27 (Motions for Reconsideration) amended to set new limitations on length for motions for reconsideration; new Rule 29 (Election Contest Case) establishes specific filing requirements for appeals in election-contest cases.
Part V. Post-Conviction Habeas Corpus Appeals; Original Petitions, Rule 36(2) (Original Petitions) be amended to set out the procedures and preliminary requirements for filing original petitions.
Part X. Calendar; Oral Argument, Rule 53 (Order of Argument) amended to memorialize the procedures for uninterrupted opening arguments and the reservation of time for rebuttal; Rule 55(3) (Counsel) amended to specify who may be seated at counsel table.
Other revisions update citation styles, add references to the revised Unified Appeal Procedure, and make other non-substantive edits.

- It is hereby ordered that Rule 24 (Supplemental Briefs) of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Georgia be amended, effective January 7, 2015, to clarify that the page limits set forth in Supreme Court Rule 20 are applicable to supplemental briefs in both civil and criminal cases.
- It is hereby ordered that the Rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia be amended by adding new Part XXI, Rule 121, to adopt the American Bar Association’s Model Court Rule on the Provision of Legal Services Following Determination of a Major Disaster. (The amendment shall take effect on February 5, 2015.)
