Atlanta, August 31, 2018 – Chief Justice P. Harris Hines will throw out the first pitch for the Atlanta Braves Saturday night at 7:00 when the Braves face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates at SunTrust Park. It is believed this is the first time in history that a Chief Justice of the state’s highest court has ever had the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch.

“This is the thrill of a lifetime,” said Chief Justice Hines, who retires this week after 44 years on the bench. “I hope I can still get the ball across the plate.”
