Atlanta, February 16, 2023 – Judicial Council Standing Committee On Court Interpreters has submitted its amended rules for Legal Interpreting in the State of Georgia to the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Created in June 2021, the Standing Committee was charged with amending the Rules for Use of Interpreters for Non-English Speaking Persons which was last updated in 2012.  The Standing Committee has made significant revisions to the substance and format of the rules, including establishing licensing programs and minimum requirements and procedures for qualifying interpreters.
