The Supreme Court of Georgia welcomes visitors and provides an array of educational tours for students (grades 5-12) and adults. We welcome you to learn about the third branch of government. We make every effort to accommodate visiting groups, but suggest scheduling your tour 2-3 months in advance.

We currently offer the following tours:

For High School Students and Adults

Courtroom Tour: This tour takes place in the Supreme Court Courtroom and educates visitors about the judicial branch, Georgia’s court system, the difference between trial and appellate courts and the role of the justices and how they are appointed. Following a video, a tour guide is available to answer questions. This tour lasts approximately 30-45 minutes.

Courtroom Tour and the Mock Oral Argument Experience: In addition to touring the Courtroom, visitors may participate in a Mock Oral Argument. In this experience, visitors will act out an oral argument using a hypothetical case (provided by the Court). Students have the opportunity to be justices, attorneys, and clerks. This tour lasts approximately 60-90 minutes.

SCHEDULE A TOUR

 

Tours last from 30-45 minutes for basic courtroom tours and 60-90 minutes for the Mock Oral Argument experience.
  • You are welcome to bring a camera and take pictures.
  • Food and beverages are not permitted in the courtroom.
  • All visitors over 18 must present picture ID to security.
  • No weapons are permitted. Upon entering the building, each visitor will be required to walk through a metal detector and all purses, etc. will be subject to search.
