Atlanta, July 3, 2025 – The Judicial Council of Georgia Ad Hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence and the Courts has submitted its report.

Established in August 2024, the committee was charged with assessing the risks and benefits associated with the use of Generative AI in the courts and making recommendations to help maintain public trust and confidence in the judicial system as the use of AI increases. The committee’s principal focus was on court rules and procedures and related issues.

The committee is chaired by Justice Andrew A. Pinson, and its membership includes representation from various classes of state courts and judicial partner agencies.

In coordination with the Supreme Court, the State Bar of Georgia also has a committee, chaired by attorney Darrell Sutton, that is reviewing how AI impacts the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct and other practice-of-law-related matters involving AI.
